Course Description

Everyone experiences adversity and stress at some level. One truth is not all stress is bad. We will examine the science behind stress along with coping and managing techniques. This course teaches public safety personnel techniques by which they can manage both job related and personal stress. We will discuss compassion fatigue and burnout; how do we recognizing and prevent it? By the end of the class students will have developed a practical guide to coping with stress, both personal and work related.
