Vehicle Pursuit Termination Techniques

Course Description

This course is designed to provide scenario based training for the most common types of pursuit termination techniques currently deployed by law enforcement agencies.  The training will consist of utilizing Tire Deflation Devices, Box-In Technique, and the Precision Immobilization Technique in scenarios where due regard, decision making, and communication are required under the stress of a controlled pursuit.

Prerequisites

Prerequisites to attend this course are completion of a Precision Immobilization Technique (P.I.T.) class at the beginning of this program and one of the following courses prior to attending: BLETC EVOC, Basic EVOC, Advanced Law Enforcement EVOC Level 2 (LEEVOC 2) or Law Enforcement Emergency Vehicle Operations Course Level 1 (LEEVOC 1).  Student officers must be current/active law enforcement officials and must possess a valid driver's license. 



Who Should Attend

This course should be attended by law enforcement officers employed by agencies that currently use Tire Deflation Devices, the Box-In Technique, or the Precision Immobilization Technique to terminate a pursuit.
