Family Violence

Course Description
This course is designed to provide officers with a review of family violence law and discuss the impact of recent law updates. Officers will explore family violence response with an emphasis on understanding the complex dynamics of these relationships and how victim and abuser behaviors are impacted. Understanding the totality of the entire relationship will equip officers to enhance officer safety, conduct an informed investigation, build cases for prosecution, and thereby increase victim safety and offender accountability.
