Understanding the Terrain: An Overview of Brain-Based Tactical Training Design

Course Description

This two-day seminar (lecture plus NURO System familiarization and live-fire validation) surveys the latest in methods, concepts and tools for neuroscience-based firearms and use-of-force training. Attendees will gain an understanding of how the human brain learns, where traditional training methods fall short and why, as well as several high-level strategies to improve training efficiency along with student retention, skill performance, awareness, decision-making and de-escalation ability. Live-fire exercises will include use of Building Shooters? revolutionary new NUROŽ Shooting System (Patent Pending), a set of sensory stimulation and performance-measurement tools that are optimized for firearms and tactical training applications.

Prerequisites

Students must be certified law enforcement.

Who Should Attend

This course is designed for firearms and tactics instructors.  POST credit will be issued to Georgia peace officers who successfully complete the training. 

Special Notes

This course in being conducted via a partnership between Building Shooters Technology LLC and GPSTC, and is facilitated by Building Shooters.  Prior to acceptance into the course, students must first visit https://buildingshooters.com/seminars/ to register and pay the $300.00 tuition.  Once this step is complete, students MUST email the enrollment confirmation from BST to GPSTC Firearms Training at [email protected] AND complete/submit the GPSTC student registration online. Submission of the GPSTC registration alone does NOT guarantee acceptance into this class.


Students should arrive with their handgun, holster, 400 rounds of factory ammunition, and eye/ear protection, as well as range and weather appropriate clothing.
